This workshop will raise your awareness of signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise.

It focuses on child protection and how to handle situations if you have concerns. How to protect yourself, the young people you are coaching and your employer, by understanding and following good coaching practice.

Who is the course designed for?

This seminar is aimed at all those working with young people.

Course content

This course will allow you to:

  • identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching
  • explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response
  • recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse
  • take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.
